How To Join

Anyone is allowed to join the IMF.

1. Joining

Anyone is allowed to join the IMF no matter who you are. The IMF does not discriminate. However to participate in sanctioned events one must prove that they have a basic knowledge of Mao and must submit an application.

For anyone who wants to move up in the IMF rankings as well as to participate in a sanctioned event, he/she must prove that they have basic Mao knowledge. New players are allowed to attend sanctioned events, which are titled as "unregistered," in order to learn how to play. To become a "registered" member, an application form, a short quiz about Mao, and an application fee must be mailed in. Results will be sent out via mail within 8-10 days of being received.

If accepted (now known as a "registered" member), a membership fee must be paid which will provide the registered player with an ID Card, access to the "rules" section of the site, the ability to play in higher level tournaments, win prizes, and the ability to play in national qualifiers and pro events.
